A Long Awaited Dream Arrives on Manchester's Town Green

Manchester Riverwalk's dream of a bridge across the West Branch of the Battenkill came another step closer on June 5th when the two 50-foot long trusses arrived on the Town Green. Skillfully delivered by 2 eighteen wheelers, one after another, the two spans were then joined together to create the 110-foot bridge.
Mark your calendars and clear your afternoon schedule—Monday, June 9th at 1 PM promises to be one of those rare moments when an entire community witnesses infrastructure history being made. The carefully assembled bridge will be lifted from the Town Green and precisely positioned onto its permanent abutments spanning the West Branch of the Battenkill.
This isn't just construction—it's the culmination of Manchester's collective vision becoming reality. The Riverwalk project represents more than pedestrian infrastructure; it embodies our community's commitment to enhancing quality of life, promoting outdoor recreation, and creating lasting connections between neighborhoods and natural spaces.
Why you should be there:

Looking Ahead: The Grand Opening Celebration

By then, the Town Green will be fully restored to its pristine condition, with the construction staging area giving way once again to the tree- and flower-filled space that serves as the Manchester community's heart.
